Personality

Many say it to be the suns mercy that Yaro is a peaceloving individual. If he meant to do harm, he could easily do so, but luckily Yaro absolutely hates violence. Yaro is a very chilled and relaxed person as he has little worries in his life. He always smiles, gently and kind. Many see him as a saint, given how holy his powers seem and how much he tries to make the Nimbus a better place. He always stays calm, even in horrible situations, and he often serves as a root of peace for others as well. He dislikes injustice and being lied to, which he can easily read out with his powers. But luckily, he does not hold it against anyone. Yaro cares for his citizens and often goes through the city to be there for them. Any citizen, no matter the cast, can approach him without fear, and the citizens gladly do so to seek advice from their wise Atem. When there is reason to celebrate, he will absolutely do so cheerfully and involve the entire city to have another reason to organize feasts and dances for his people.

Despite his saint-like personality, he can get a little sassy at times when he feels comfortable with the people around him. Nothing that would offend anyone, but make them smirk instead. He also is not interested in the pending war between the Free and the Sublime. Eventhough he is good friends with Atem Ra, he is not willing to risk the safety of his people in order to help another kingdom out - eventhough he would have the power to solve certain problems. However, if it does not directly involve the war, he is more than willing to help his Atem-friend out.

Atem Yaro is invested in the stories of the newcomers - people that, through whatever circumstance, got sucked through the dimensions and into the Nimbus. To hear and learn from the outside world is his biggest interest, therefore his temple is full of outsiders that he takes good care of.

Backstory

It was known very early that Yaro was gifted by the sun because his passive powers developed at an early age of 6 years. Yaro could see what others thought, he knew their true names and at times he could predict the future. This, of course, quickly made the round. The kingdom had been without a ruler for a few years, living their peaceful and harmonic life without any fears - but the news of a new Atem were sensational. From that point on, Yaro was a little celebrity. Over the years, Yaro grew even more powerful, learned his telekinesis powers and grew so popular, that the kingdom almost urged him to get crowned the new Atem.

But Yaro waited humbly. Since the villagers looked up upon him since day 1, Yaros personality shaped into the man he is today. A humble, kind and cheerful person, always acting wise and thoughtful. At first, it was not that natural for Yaro to act this way, as he was naturally a rather sassy and smart boy. But he grew into this role with the help of his people and his powers.

On his 18th birthday, Yaro officially got crowned. As the new ruler of the kingdom of the Sun, he moved into the Atem temple that had been eagerly prepared for him. The Atems of the other kingdoms at that time were present and greeted him warmly and with deepest respect. Of course, the word of his immense powers spread quickly even before his coronation. Not every Atem at that time believed those rumors at first, but it did not take a day at Yaros temple to understand how blessed Yaro was.

Since then, Yaro reigned over his kingdom. Noone truly taught him, he just grew with the new status and responsibility. He kept the heart of the kingdom intact - the many holidays, the old customs and rituals, and the teachings of love, respect and kindness. And he only ever changed the kingdom for good, helping it thrive to the powerful, majestic and respected kingdom it is to this day.

One thing Yaro is particularly known for - except for his incredible powers of course - is his interest for 'outsiders', people from other worlds falling into the Nimbus through different means. These people are ripped from the world they know and thrown into the dangerous lands of the Nimbus, with no way out. On the one hand, Yaro wants to give these poor souls a place to stay, to rest and to heal. These people need more care and shelter than others and need to be introduced into their society. On the other hand, Yaro knows that the other worlds have no limits like the Nimbus. Therefore, he gladly takes them in to learn from them. Not to mention that some bring in interesting powers into the world of the Nimbus.

Atem powers

Yaro is known as the most powerful Atem in the history of the Nimbus, and not without reason. His powers render any attack useless. He foresees any event that could affect him in a bad way, and it is not limited to visions about himself. He often foresees attacks on Atem Ra for example, which he sadly cannot prevent due to the distance between the temples. The visions often happen in his sleep, but also during the day. If he has a vision at day, he falls completely still and spaces out, his eyes slightly glowing when looked at carefully.

The probably most impressive power is his passive ability to see into the minds of anyone. He had this ability since he was young and therefore he is by now used to the many information he can gather from a person. He is also able to kind of ignore all the input he gets. With this ability also comes the knowledge of everyones true name, which in of itself is a powerful thing in the world of the Nimbus. He often gets asked to use these abilities to help solve problems or mysteries, but he usually declines unless it is of great importance like the attacks against Atem Ra.

Last but not least, he is able to use telekinesis. He can lift things and people up, even multiple at the same time, and move them to his will. While he cannot control what people say, he can easily move their bodies if he wanted to. Eventhough this is the least known power of the Atem as he usually never uses it in public, it still is a powerful gift from the sun.

Relationships

Malek - Malek is his most precious guest in his temple. Malek, too, came from the outside world into the Nimbus, falling right into his kingdom. Since outsiders are not bound to the rules of the Nimbus, they often bring in unique powers as well, almost sunblessed-like. And such was the case with Malek as well. And the almost creepily quiet boy instantly got his intention as he weilded powers that he had never seen before. Yes, sure, he could talk to ghosts and all that, but thats not important!!

No, what fascinated Yaro most was his inability to read him. For the first time, Yaro encountered someone whose mind and feelings he could not read. For the first time, he had to approach someone blindly. The more he got to know him, the more he could learn about him, but he was still a mystery to him. This curiosity lead to Yaro spending a lot of time with his newest guest, finding him quite charming and adorable. Plus he shared that peaceful and quiet core of the personality. Even if Yaro is way more active and cheerful than Malek, they still have a lot in common, which brought them together in the end.

And by now, he would not want to miss his love. From his beautiful appearance to his focussed spirituality, Yaro finds himself admiring Malek over and over again.

Samael - Samael is Maleks brother and fell into the world of the Nimbus a while after him. They found out when Atem Ra from the nearby kingdom of the Free contacted him, saying he had an outsider as well, claiming to know Malek. Yaro has a very high opinion of him, given that he shares many similarities to his brother. But in general Samael is friendlier and has a warmer personality. Perhaps, if things would have gone different, he could have ended up with Samael as well.

Knowing that Samael is able to control the feared shadows of the Nimbus, he respects his powers a lot and also knows the potential of this dangerous ability. Therefore, if Yaro really felt like he would need a hand in a serious matter, he would likely choose Samael at his side, knowing that his knowledge together with the wrath of the shadows would easily end any battle.

Rorik - Rorik was one of the earlier outsiders. He came to his temple a few years ago, lost and hopeless. When he first came to the world of the Nimbus, he was horrified and scared. And when he learned that he could never return to his world, he fell into despair and depression. Yaro spent a lot of time with him to warm him up and to welcome him into his new home. Together, they figured out what Rorik was able to do and Yaro helped him all throughout the way. Until, one day, he could officially call him the Commander of the royal guard.

Not that it meant much for a peaceful kingdom like theirs, but it gave Rorik the task he needed. Yaro appreciates the hard-working, grumpy man with too many horse-habits.

Atem Ra - From all the current Atems, Ra is by far his favourite. Maybe because he is rather young, or maybe because he looked up to him so much. Ra is an oblivious and naive Atem who still expects the best of the world around him, only to fall into a deep pit whenever he is faced with the harsh reality of his situation. To him, Ra is an unpolished gem. Yaro sees a lot of potential in him, knowing that he could grow to become one of the best and kindest Atems of the Nimbus, but he also sees how easily he is influenced.

He first met Ra when he was a mere teenager, who looked for guidance that he gladly gave him. Ever since then Ra has the highest opinion of him and is almost adorable how much he idealizes him. Maybe it is because of this kind of mentor-pupil situation that he feels invested in Ras fate so much.

Commander Ikarus - When talking about Atem Ra, one cannot forget his trusty Commander and kind-of-brother Ikarus. Yaro knows that the strong and proud Commander feels a little uneasy under his knowing gaze, but he tries to counteract it by not talking about weak spots, eventhough he often thought about it. Ikarus is a troubled man that does not show his inner pain at all, and Yaro often wished to talk to him and give him new hope. Yaro respects the deep loyalty of Ikarus and the commitment he shows when it comes to Ra. One of the biggest secrets of Commander Ikarus is his undying love for Ra. Not a brotherly but a deep emotional and sexual love. And while Ikarus tried to get Ras attention over and over again, Ra was absolutely oblivious about these signs since he grew up with Ikarus and did not quite think of him as boyfriend-material. Yaro found himself rooting for the loyal romantic man over and over again, thinking that they would make a perfect couple~

Atem Harambe - Sometimes, Yaro feels responsible for a lot of things that were caused by Harambes reign. Harambe once was one of his citizens. A sunblessed that rose up while Yaro was already the reigning Atem. Instead of joining Yaro in his temple and learning from him, Harambe wanted the full control and the reign, which Yaro denied him. He saw his lust for power and stopped every attempt of him trying to get into the temple. That was the reason Harambe left for another kingdom - the kingdom of the Sublime. Knowing that the Sublime would take anyone as Atem that killed the previous one, that was exactly what he did. Since then, Harambe rules the kingdom with hunger for even more power.

Yaro regrets to not have done more for the sunblessed, and now he feels nothing more than sadness for him and for how things turned out. He carries around a lot of hidden guilt, as he now does not want to persue and kill the threat that he had become, for as long as his own people are safe from his wrath.

Atem Azura / Atem Yuval - Yaro is one of the few people who know about Azuras and Yuvals true fate. Sadly, he does not have much contact to Azura, but values her and her powers as much as he values anyone. He feels bad for Atem Yuval, knowing that he is prisoner in Atem Harambes temple - but again, Yaro refuses to get involved. Sadly, he has not much contact with either of them and therefore has no deeper relationship to them.
